In a break away from our ensemble's traditional wind quintet repertoire, we invited local string players to join our clarinettist, Sarah Barrett, for the beautiful Brahms Clarinet Quintet plus a wonderful string arrangement of Finzi's Five Bagatelles.
Our oboist, Mildred Burchett-Vass, and pianist, John Sayer, also introduced us to the British composer Michael Hurd through his Concerto da Camera for oboe and orchestra.

A huge thank you to everyone who came to our concert yesterday evening. We raised an amazing £527.83 through tickets and refreshment donations and were also given £500 from a corporate social responsibility programme so our grand fundraising total is an amazing £1027.83 for First Days Children’s Charity.

After a 2-year break from live performance because of the Covid-19 pandemic, our return to the concert platform was a great success. Thank you to our substantial and supportive audience for coming to join us in the hall, and also to many other donors who couldn't be present. Our concert profit and additional donations came to an amazing £1,029 in total! This has now been sent to ReadiFood Food Bank.

The profit of £400 has been sent to Understanding Dementia, a charity based in Twyford which promotes a clearer understanding of dementia by running training for care workers, health professionals and family carers.
